Peru Tour with Flash Pack

12 Days in Sep
South America

Route Details

I booked this trip, called “Conquer the Peaks of Peru,” through Flash Pack. They do adventure tours for solo travelers in their 30s and 40s, and this tour will have a maximum of 14 people. The whole itinerary is here: https://www.flashpack.com/adventure-trips/peak-of-peru/.

It was a really good experience: everything was put together well, the lodging was really unique, and the sites were great. I already plan on booking with them again for another trip. The only thing I might have changed is that it felt like too much. I liked all the places on the itinerary, but it was really jam-packed. I would have liked more down time built in. Some other thoughts:

Staying in 3 of the National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World was a really cool experience. Stayed at the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción (Amazon), Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba (Sacred Valley) and Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel.

Lima: not really what I expected. I didn’t find the city attractive. The food was good, however.

The food was a highlight throughout the entire trip.

The boat ride and canopy walk through the Amazon near Bolivia were fantastic.

Machu Picchu was what I expected, but I wasn’t blown away. I had high expectations, and it lived up to them, but it didn’t stick out as the best part of the trip.

Rainbow Mountain was awesome.

In general, hiking through the Andes Mountains was my favorite part. No particular spot, just exploring the landscape.
