Family vacation to the Outerbanks (Duck, NC)

7 Days in Jun
North America

Route Details

Flew into Norfolk International Airport. This is approximately 1.5-2 hours from the Outerbanks. Rented a car from the airport and drove to OBX destination where we stayed in Duck. We stayed at the Four Seasons development and rented a large beach house for the week with our family of 20 people. The house we rented had it’s own pool, but the development also had a large community pool. Our house was about 950 feet from the beach, so it was possible to walk there, but there was also a shuttle that took guests to and from the beach. This was a great community to stay in, but my only complaint was being a little too far from the beach. I would recommend getting a house right on the beach if possible. Just as a heads up, I was coming from a very tiring trip in the preceding weeks of this trip, so I did A LOT of relaxing on this trip. The OBX is full of fun things to do, but my lists of places I went will mainly be limited to the beach and pool just due to relaxing/unwinding this week.

Day 1

  • Four seasons
  • High Cotton BBQ

On this day, I just got in and slept until around 7 pm becuase I was so tired from travelling, so I didn’t do much in this day. After that, I ate at High Cotton Gin. This had GREAT food. If you like a good BBQ place, go here.

Day 2-6

  • Beach
  • Pool

Day 3

  • Eden’s Day Spa in Duck
  • Sweet T’s Coffee Beer and Wine Shop
  • Tommy’s Market
