Winter getaway to Turks & Caicos

4 Days in Jan
Caribbean/Central America

Route Details

My family took a quick trip to Turks &  Caicos in January to get out of the cold Ohio weather and capitalize on some cheap flights!

We stayed at the Somerset at Grace Bay resort, which was a great location on the famous Grace Bay beach! We had some issues at check-in (they hadn’t given us the room we booked), but they rectified the situation with an upgrade. The service was excellent, and the room was amazing!

I highly recommend this resort – good food, lovely beach, nice pools, and, as mentioned, a fantastic location.

We didn’t leave the resort much, except to go to dinner. Some restaurants were within walking distance (at other resorts), but we did rent a car. If you’re interested in shopping or exploring the downtown area, a car would be a good idea. If you don’t intend on leaving the resort, no car needed!

Our one extra activity was taking a ride on the Tiki Boat. It cruises up and down Grace Bay, plays music, and serves a good rum punch. It was a nice afternoon excursion, even if a bit expensive.
