Seattle

3 Days in May
North America

Route Details

  • Dahlia Lounge
  • Lola
  • Pike Place Market
  • Original Starbucks
  • Space Needle

First off EAT LOTS OF FOOD (if you only have a couple days in the city like I did, heed my word, EAT). If you like seafood Seattle will be an amazing taste-bud journey. Everywhere you go the food is amazing. BUT make sure you eat at these two places: Dahlia Lounge and Lola, they are across the street from each other. Make a reservation PLEASE because if you cannot wait to be seated and walk away from this amazing food I will hunt you down. Dahlia Lounge has the most amazing crab cakes, they are giant, deliciously golden brown on the bottom and full, full, full of crab. Then head over to Lola for desert. If their bakery is still open beg them for doughnuts, if you have to get on your knees do it because it will be worth it. They make made to order doughnuts, homemade mascarpone and fruit preserve to spread all over the light and fully little devils. One day I had strawberry for breakfast, raspberry for dinner and apricot on the second day. I literally walked at least 2 miles from my hotel to Lola’s for these doughnuts. Take your time walking through Pike Place (GO TO PIKE PLACE!) you will be overwhelmed but in the best way ever. Just stand around for a few minutes before you try to move anywhere. Please watch the men throw the fish around, HEY order a fish and have them throw it around for you!! Eat everything you see! Buy a bunch of the beautiful flowers they have lining the aisles. And when you’re tired from all the food coma you’ve put yourself in stop at the Original Starbucks just outside of the market. For the first time you will get to see the mermaid the way she was intended. Did I say eat lots of food? The people are really nice in Seattle so make time to chat with them; they are used to mean, gruff tourists who are only interested in paying for their I heart Seattle shirt and moving on. There are tons of people out playing instruments and singing, it’s a wonderful city. If you have time to ride the monorail over to the space needle you should. I personally didn’t spend much time at the Space Needle because the area was so touristy. I felt like I was in an amusement park. But if you don’t mind heights you should go to the top of the needle. Again, eat everything you come across, you won’t regret it!! Year traveled:2009
