At Baldwin-Wallace College, I took part in a 6-week Seminar in Europe with 20 other college students and 2 professors, where we journaled our way through art, architecture, and culture. Bruges was our 6th stop on the trip. We arrived by train into Bruges from Amsterdam.
Day 1

We arrived by train in Bruges and spent most of the day on a walking tour of the city. Of course, we visited a cafe and had Belgian waffles (with chocolate). Bruges is an old city, and small. We visited the historic city centre, and also the belfry, which towered over the city. As typical on this trip, we visited a few churches. The Basilica of the Holy Blood is very old and filled with beautiful murals and architecture. The Church of Our Lady is another old, beautiful church, with a statue by Michelangelo of the Madonna and Child.
Bruges is also full of beautiful canals, like Amsterdam, on a smaller scale. In many places you can see swans swimming alongside beautiful landscapes filled with tulips, such as Minnewater Lake. Near the lake is the Beguinage (Ten Wijngaerde), which is a tranquil monastery, absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and a great place to capture photos.

Day 2

On our second day, we went up the Belfry to see the city from above. We ended about midday with visiting the Chocolate Museum, which was a bit hokey, but fun, and of course filled with delicious treats.
