Day 1

  • Pikes Peak
  • Garden of the Gods

We spent the first day and a half in Colorado Springs and visited Pikes Peak (We spent about half a day there and we drove up instead of taking the train. I think it was like $40 for the car vs like $30 per person for the train. There are 5 of us so it was a better deal). Its a neat drive with awesome views.  We also visited Garden of the Gods which is very close to Pikes Peak and spent time walking around and climbing on the rocks. Stayed at a hotel we got on Hotwire.

Day 2

  • National Olympic Training Center
  • Sports Authority Field

The National Olympic Training Center is also in Colorado Springs. It is free and its worth a stop. We drove a rental car to Denver (little over an hour) and went to see Manchester United play AS Roma at Sports Authority Field where the Broncos play and walked around downtown Denver.

Day 3: Sombrero Ranch in Estes Park

The next day we went Horseback Riding at Sombrero Ranch in Estes Park. We went on the 1 hour trail ride with our kids and we all had a great time. The horses were very gentle, well trained and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. Great for kids or beginners.

Day 4: white water rafting

The last day we went White Water Rafting with the Clear Creek Rafting Company. Was a good experience and would defiantly do it again. We did a beginners run because we had the kids with us and they had never been. Stayed with friends while in Denver.
