London and Stonehenge in 2 Days

Day 1

We won this trip in a Guitar Center contest so mostly everything was (supposedly) set up for this day. We were to meet a driver at the airport who never showed up, so after wasting about an hour looking around and trying to figure things out, we had to take a train. That whole ordeal set us back several hours so we really didn’t have much time to do anything since the Cult concert was that night. Got to the hotel, went to Piccadilly Circus to walk around, had dinner and then the show at the Forum.

Day 2

  • Stonehenge
  • Buckingham Palace
  • Westminster Abbey
  • Big Ben
  • Tower of London
  • London Bridge

The next day we took a train to Salisbury and then the bus the rest of the way to Stonehenge. Plan on at least 2 hours travel each way, 2.5 if you want to play it safe. Don’t really need more than an hour at Stonehenge to walk around, got back to London with time to walk around Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, went past Big Ben/London Eye area (all close together) and then along the River Thames to the Tower of London and London Bridge after dark. We didn’t have time to go in to any of them, but the bridge was the most impressive thing – looked great at night. Lot of walking but we enjoyed it.

We didn’t have a lot of time at all, but that’s fine because we didn’t really have a strong desire to go to London. The second day was packed but we only had one free day so we had to see everything we could. I wouldn’t have changed anything to be honest, I’m glad we took the trip to Stonehenge. Flew home the next day.
