Day 1

Went to Four Peaks Brewing Co in Phoenix for dinner after a late flight in.  They had great craft beer selection and delicious green chile poutine.

Day 2

Spent day with family and then relaxed at resort.  Went to The Chocolate Grill for dinner and they had good ribs.

Day 3

  • Tombstone
  • Royal Elizabeth Inn
  • Charro Steak

Drove to Tombstone and stayed for a few hours.  Very touristy and gun fights were only ok.  Drove to Tucson and stayed at The Royal Elizabeth Bed and Breakfast.  This was a grand old house converted into a bed and breakfast.  Very helpful staff and gorgeous rooms with access to full kitchen and private pool.  Went to Charro Steak for dinner which was good, but pricey.

Day 4

Went to the Pima Air and Space Museum and spent a lot of time there seeing all the old planes.  Drove up Mt. Lemmon and had picnic at the top.

Day 5

Drove to the Mongollon Rim in Payson and then drove the whole Rim.  Gorgeous views and wonderful lakes throughout the drive.  We stopped for a picnic and hiked down to a secluded lake.  The roads were very difficult and we rented a truck to be able to drive the whole Rim.  This was an all day trip.

Day 6

Relaxing day at the pool and then dinner and drinks with friends at Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.  A friend owns the business and we got a tour after dinner.  Great craft beer selection and delicious food options.

Day 7

  • Page Springs Cellars
  • Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery
  • Javelina Leap Vineyard
  • Jerome
  • Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards Tasting Room
  • Bobby D’s BBQ

Drove to wineries in Cornville (Page Springs Cellars, Oak Creek Vineyards and Winery, and Javelina Leap Vineyard).  We then went on to Jerome, which is a city built into and on top of a large hill.  We went to Caduceus Cellars for more wine tastings and then to Bobby D’s BBQ for dinner with great views from the top of the hill.
